Free Online Markdown Editor · Last updated: September 10, 2026

Summary: Free Online Markdown Editor is designed local-first. Markdown content, imported files, drafts, tabs, and settings are processed in your browser. The app has no account, requires no payment, and does not intentionally upload document content to the application server.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Free Online Markdown Editor website and app at md.choweb3.com, including its installable PWA version.

“We” means Chợ Web3, the project team. The service is currently provided 100% free of charge.

2. Data processed in your browser

To provide editing features, the app may store the following data on your device:

This data is stored through IndexedDB, LocalStorage, and Session Storage. It is tied to your browser, device, and website origin; we do not have direct access to those browser storage areas.

3. What the app does not collect

In its current version, the app does not:

When you visit the website, your browser still sends normal technical requests to the hosting infrastructure to load the page, assets, and Service Worker. The hosting provider may process basic technical information such as IP address, user agent, time, and security logs under its own policy.

4. Files, links, and external resources

When you choose a file or drop one into the app, it is read locally through browser APIs. The app does not upload that file.

If a document contains an image or link to an external website, your browser may contact that website when the resource is displayed or the link is opened. That third party may receive technical request information under its own policy.

The Settings panel links to GitHub, Facebook, and Chợ Web3. Opening those links takes you outside the app and is governed by the relevant third-party policies.

5. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete a file in the app, close or delete a draft tab, clear website data in your browser, or remove the PWA data. Clearing cache may not automatically remove IndexedDB or LocalStorage; use your browser’s site-data controls if you want to remove everything.

Because we do not keep document content on the application server, we cannot restore files deleted from your browser or delete them remotely. Export Markdown or a ZIP backup before clearing browser data.

6. Security

The preview sanitizes certain dangerous HTML tags, event handlers, and URL schemes. Mermaid and KaTeX are also configured restrictively. No software can guarantee absolute security, so do not place confidential data in an untrusted device or browser.

7. Your rights and questions

For data stored locally, you can view, edit, export, or delete it directly in your browser. Questions can be sent through:

8. Policy changes

We may update this policy when features, infrastructure, or legal requirements change. The new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. If new data collection is introduced, this policy will be updated to describe its purpose and scope before it is used.
